Three weeks with the Plus Patrol 1999

Not content with the two days I spent in 1998 on location with the Showbiz Lingo Plus! team, in January 1999 I spent three weeks in the company of Pilar Mateo, following her to every press conference, album launch, and studio shoot to make a unique record of the hectic life of a journalist and TV presenter.

More often than not this also meant that a Showbiz Lingo TV crew was in tow, filming numerous interviews for inclusion in the next week's show. These interviews were done by the Showbiz Lingo Plus Patrol's three presenters, Aster Amoyo, Dolly Anne Carvajal, and Pilar Mateo, who also filmed the links between these interviews on the day before transmission.

This year, as you will see in the following pages, I met a whole host of stars, including Dayanara Torres, Jolina, Glydel Mercado, the cast of Mula sa Puso, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Rivermaya, Maricel Soriano, and Jessa Zaragosa.
