This is a personal record of two days
I spent on location with some of the
presenters and crew of the ABS-CBN
Channel 2 show Showbiz Lingo Plus. As a guest of one of
the presenters, Pilar Mateo, I had a unique opportunity to experience
a taste of the hectic life of a TV presenter! I attended two locations
shoots on the 21st and 28th of February 1998 with the presenters
Pilar, Aster Amoyo, and Dolly Anne Carvajal, and crew. On each
occasion the shows were broadcast the following day.
For a piece that lasts only a few minutes on screen, many hours of work go into the preparation and implementation of it. Before it even gets to the stage I've documented here, all the interviews have been recorded, all the scripts written, and all the location visits arranged. After the filming is complete, it has to go to the editing suite so that everything can be put together for the broadcast the following day.
