My name is Ashley Powell, and I'm a computer programmer from England. I became friends with Pilar through the internet, and that friendship grew over the months. I decided to arrange a visit, and eventually came for three weeks during February/March 1998. I guaranteed back then that it wouldn't be long before I was back again, and I was right - I made a return trip in January/February 1999. Everyone I meet there is very friendly and always welcomes me with open arms.

I'd like to thank everyone involved with the making of the show who tolerated having a strange foreigner wandering in their midst taking photographs of all and sundry. I'd especially like to thank Aster for inviting me to the party and for buying me the ABS-CBN hat - (I did wear it last summer in England!). Finally, thanks to Pilar for being everything she is to me...

The experiences I had during the filming of Showbiz Lingo Plus gave me memories that I will treasure forever, and I hope that sharing them through these pages will give you a insight into the professionalism, hard work - and fun! - that all the people involved with the show enjoy.

For anyone interested in such things, these pages were produced using an Amiga 4000 emulating an Apple Macintosh, using Pagemill and Photoshop, and a bog-standard PC using Front Page. The photographs were all taken by me (with the exception of those with me on them!) using a Canon EOS 650. The photographs were scanned in on an Apple Color OneScanner at a variety of resolutions.
